Do You Think The Roast Jokes About Tom Brady Went Too Far?

Brady appeared on the Wednesday, May 15, episode of "The Pivot Podcast" hosted by former footballers Fred Taylor, Ryan Clark, and Channing Crowder to discuss his career, his future, his family, and the Netflix roast that became the talk of the internet for days after it aired live on Sunday, May 5.
The former Patriots great said he didn't mind the harsh jokes at his expense, but he hated how it hurt his children.
“I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun," he said during the podcast. “I didn’t like the way that it affected my kids.”
The roasters included comedians such as Kevin Hart, Nikki Glaser, Jeff Ross, and Tony Hinchcliffe along with Brady's former teammates Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, and Randy Moss. Even ex-head coach Bill Belichick got in on the action.
And they didn't hold back. One after another, they joked about his public divorce from supermodel Gisele Bündchen and her new boyfriend, Tom's looks, "Deflate Gate," his promotion of the FTX cryptocurrency scam, and so much more during the three-hour broadcast.
Brady told "The Pivot" that he expected all of that, but he hadn't expected how it would hurt his three children — Jack, 16, Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11.
It’s the hardest part about … like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize. I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.
No jokes were aimed at Brady's children directly, however. Comedian Nikki Glaser told Howard Stern that the roasters had made a pact that everything about the future Hall of Famer's life was fair game except his kids.
"... Because they didn't ask for that," she told Stern.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion said that while he regrets his children were hurt, he believes the roast has made him a better dad.
"It makes you in some ways a better parent going through it because sometimes you’re naïve,” he explained. “It’s a good lesson for me as a parent, I’m gonna be a better parent as I go forward because of it.”
